APG 30 (Multigrade 20w/60)

This Multigrade oil SAE 20w/60 replaces to advantage the Monograde SAE30 and the Multigrade 20w/50. It was formulated especially for post-war engines and in particular for high-performance vehicles such as MG, Porsche, Jaguar, Triumph, Ferrari, Alfa, etc. This Oil is also recommended for cars functioning at 6 volts, where the starter requires an engine charge of minimum resistance at time of start-up.

APG 40 (Multigrade 25w/70)

Special Multigrade Oil 25w/70 replacing Monogrades SAE40. This viscosity is specially adapted for post-war large-cylinder engines or for engines with low gauge oil pumps, i.e. for most post-war motorbikes. This oil contains additives whose special features improve hot pressure as well as oil consumption.

The "PW" range Up to 1950
(Multigrade Micro-Dispersant & Micro-detergent)

These engine oils are available in the same viscosities as "APG" oils.

  1. The "PW" range MUST be used:

  2. 1 - if your engine does not have a micro-particle oil filter (in paper or felt) since these engines require an oil that is purified by sedimentation.
  3. 2 - if your engine functions with non-detergent oils or if the quality of the oil in your engine is unknown.

The use of a "PW" type "Non Dispersant" oil prevents migration of accumulated mud and carbon deposits that may block the oil pipes and consequently cause a serious lack of lubrification. This range of oils contains a corrosion inhibitor and protects engines during prolonged periods of inactivity.

RUNNING IN OIL

Running-in oil without molecular surface modifier. Modern oils contain additives that, particularly in old-style engines, prevent running-in of the segments, causing glazing of the cylinders and requiring further disassembly of the engine following excessive oil consumption.

The running-in oil was developed to trigger the beginning of running-in for new segments on the cylinder walls. This oil must be used during the first 500 to 800 km. on old cars.
